> Three types of applications of aluminum on ships

In general, the application of aluminum on ships is divided into three categories:

One type of structure

The so-called type of structure refers to the structural members with strength as the main factors, such as the hull, the large ship deckhouse, the ship bridge, the missile launching tube, the electromagnetic gun track and so on. The electromagnetic gun has been installed on the world's largest aircraft carrier "Ford" launched in October 2013. Its launch track is made of aluminum alloy, and the test cannon is also made of aluminum alloy.

Second class structure

Such structures refer to non-stressed members or components with less force, such as various habitats, fuel tanks, water tanks, storage cabinets, aluminum watertight doors, windows, covers (usual rectangular windows for ships, marine string windows, small Speedboat aluminum window, aluminum sunroof, aluminum shutters, various hatch covers, rectangular window, mobile aluminum door, marine weathertight single aluminum door, cabin fasting door, various ladders and springboards, passenger and driver's seat and sofa Etc.), sanitary facilities, pipes, ventilation, windshields, brackets, streamlined covers and handlebars. Most of them are made of alloy materials such as 6061, 6082, and 3003.

Third types of structure

This type of structure mainly uses functional materials for the manufacture of interior decorative parts and insulation and sound insulation materials. Aluminum and aluminum alloys have good anodizing and coloring properties, and after such treatment, they have a beautiful appearance and a relatively strong corrosion resistance. In addition to the use of various heat treatments to strengthen aluminum alloy materials, aluminum-plastic (aluminum-polyethylene, Al-PE) composite panels and foam aluminum have also gained more applications. Foam aluminum sheets are good sound insulation for submarine engine rooms. material. The core layer of the composite board is a plastic layer, and the two sides are thin 1100 or 3003 alloy and aluminum alloy with a thickness of 0.1 to 0.3 mm. The surface of the aluminum plate can be subjected to deep processing such as anti-corrosion treatment, ginning, painting, printing, etc., which is characterized by light weight, appropriate rigidity, and better vibration and sound insulation effects.
